Newlyweds

- Making our way to salute the wonderful guests prior to the dinner

Thank you everybody for an unforgettable event! We are so grateful for your presence on our special day. It moved us profoundly that you traveled such a long way to celebrate the wedding day with us. These days your smiles, laughs, dancing moves and words of wisdom are the topic of our conversations.

One of the people that has captured our special moments is the photographer, Jean Michel Carel. Our deepest thanks goes to this man. He followed us like a shadow from the Capitol to the park. He did this with excellency. Within the next month you will receive a card with some of the memories of these moments.

We hope you had a safe trip back home. You will hear more from us soon.

Best regards, Elisabeth and Evariste

Table Plan

These days we are doing our best to make a table plan. It is a bit of a challenge. First, we need to think of you that speak three languages (hurray!),then those of you that master two languages, further those of you who express yourself in one language, and then there are a few of you that communicate by toddler sounds (you are the easiest to place).

However, creating the seating arrangements is overall a pleasant activity. We will make sure that you will have nice persons around you and that there will be enough food and drinks to enjoy during the feast!

The day is approaching

We have now received replies from most of you that are coming to our wedding. The day will be quite an international event. We are eagerly looking forward to celebrating the day with you!

Inside Toulouse Capitol.
Here we will do our civil marriage ceremony
This is where you will witness the civil marriage ceremony. In France it is at the capitol a marriage is counted as valid for jurisdictional reasons. Followed by the civil marriage ceremony the church will put the icing on the cake. Then the event will proceed by photo shoots (group and individual photos) and going to Lavaur.

What to do in and around Toulouse

If you enjoy shopping and spa treatments, the town of Toulouse will give you plenty of options.

Recently we have received questions on what one can do in and around Toulouse. In this post we are putting together a few suggestions on nice places to go in the Midi-Pyrenees. There are several things to do (as always in an area of any kind) in the Midi-Pyrenees,  so have a look at the following link as what to do in Toulouse.

As a starter on what to do outside Toulouse, if you are fond of the beach, what about paying a visit to Banyuls or Collioure? Or going back in time in Carcassonne During our trip to France this summer we spent a few days in Banyuls and Collioure and enjoyed the area by the sea. If you prefer hiking, this is a brilliant opportunity to check out the mountain trails of the Pyrenees. The Pyrenees offer a wide range of short and long distance foot paths. During our recent trip to France we did two trips, one long and one short. The long foot path was GR 10 and the shorter hike was in Font-Romeu.

Soon off to Toulouse

English: In two weeks we are going to Toulouse. While in France, one of the activities will be hiking in the Pyrenees with Evariste's parents. In addition we'll continue the preparations for the big day along with catching up with friends, family and the French cuisine. It is no wonder why Toulouse is such a pleasant place to spend time. The city and its surroundings add charm, warmth and ever lasting memories. If you have never been to Toulouse we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

English: One of the nice experiences of preparing a wedding is how friends and family come together and put their heads together, individually and collaboratively. We are grateful for the inspirational ideas and the efforts that are put into making October 8 into what we believe will be a wonderful day to remember.

This post ends by a picture from our adventurous trip to Geiranger July 1st to July 4th, 2011. The photo shows the two of us with the Geiranger fjord in the background/ Vi avslutter denne posten med et bilde fra den flotte turen til Geirangerfjorden 1-4. juli 2011.

Invitations on their way

We are enjoying the weekend by preparing and addressing the invitations.

Time flies and we are grateful that we in early January planned the preparations in detail. This way the unexpected is more or less expected and hopefully it will remain this way until the big day.

Invitations have arrived

Finally the invitations are ready to be picked up at the post office. Violaine and Francois have sent us the package from Toulouse, and since then the invitations have been carefully scrutinized by the Norwegian toll authorities. In a few minutes we will walk happily to pick up the good news.

So, dear guest, soon there will be a note to put on your fridge or notice wall.

And the song is...

For the wedding we have rented a DJ, and as we have different flavors in music we encourage you to help us choose songs.

What would listening to Adele make you want to do?
If you have a  song you would like to dance or listen to, please publish the name of the song (and the preferred singer if both are important to you) in the "comment" field attached to this post (below this post). So far we have a wish from one of you, but we need more!

Would Billy make you want to dance cheek to cheek or simply listen along a glass of wine?

Or what about Carla Bruni's "Ta Tienne"?

...and the lovely, "Girl from Ipanima" by Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz?

What will it be? Please help us make this evening to a variation of songs thanks to your taste in music!

Deciding on wedding invitations

We have chosen the wedding invitations. It took five hours to look through all of them as there were quite a lot to choose from. We had no idea there are so many creative card makers.

Since we celebrated Easter in Toulouse we had fun going on an Easter hunt, which we enjoyed.

These days we are planning the cover page of the invitations. Rumor has it people hold on to wedding invitations, so we better make it worth keeping.

Toulouse 2011

This weekend we checked off a place for the wedding and a wedding dress. We have enjoyed the time with Evariste's family and friends.
